Theater Lore & History
Opened August 1, 1952 with a single 350-car screen, the Transit Drive-In expanded over decades to become the largest drive-in in New York State when its fourth screen opened in 2001. A fifth screen was added in 2016, and the theater was acquired by Dipson Theatres in 2022 after 35 years under Rick Cohen.
