Theater Lore & History
Opened July 3, 1947 as Springfield's drive-in and expanded to twin screens in 1980, the Melody Cruise-In was the city's last outdoor cinema when it closed in 2016. After briefly serving as a church, the property was demolished in November 2022 for a housing development called Melody Parks.
