Theater Lore & History
Founded in 1948 by Ward Riggins Sr., Jesup Drive-In is Georgia's oldest operating drive-in, expanding to two screens in the 1970s after tornado damage. Purchased and restored in 2011 by Ralph and Jamie Hickox, it survived Hurricane Helene damage in 2024 and reopened in spring 2025 — earning the 2025 Georgia Cities Foundation Renaissance Award.
